When I first heard the Allman Brothers Band I knew right then and there that I wanted to style my playing after Duane Allman and Dicky Betts. Learning how to play "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" was a high point in my wannabe rock star days. I had forgotten the numerous times my friend Jeff and I rehearsed (we couldn't read a note of music) the harmony lines to the tune and jammed into the night. I can remember driving my family crazy playing that "Live At The Fillmore East" album version of the song at volume with my amp cranked up and my Les Paul plugged in. All in the name of S, D, and R & R. That was the real reason for learning how to play the guitar...right guys? Anyway check out their web site it's got plenty of music in real audio format and plenty of memorabilia.
